Technique: Portray yourself as one of your audience, as the common man and note that you are a part of their struggle. E.g. Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, despite their multi-million dollar contracts, have the nerve to claim that they share the same struggles with their listeners and their listeners have the nerve to believe them.
