Technique: Be
sure to communicate what "everyone knows". Express these things (that,
of course, everyone does not know but that you would like them to know
and believe everyone knows). They will think, "If this is common knowledge,
then it must be true and therefore, I must structure my thinking on this
issue around these "facts". Even if they don't believe that what you say
is actually "common knowledge", their thought structure will still be focused
on this issue, thus, it helps set the agenda and frame the debate.
One Liner:
"Of course, everyone knows that (insert your opinion here) is so"
