(Note: This
tactic is still in "outline" phase. More to come on this subject.)
Technique: Claim
that there is no solution to the situation. Present the situation as a
combination of "complexity" and "ambiguity" instantly casting doubt as
to the veracity of the accusations and implying that there may not even
be a "solution to the situation" (Note: This tactic is most appropriate
when you are on the wrong side of the argument). The 14 year old little
leaguer that led the supposedly 12-and-under "Baby Bombers" to the Little
League World Series in 2001 was the center of a cheating fiasco that made
headlines across the nation. Opponents (primarily parents of those on defeated
teams) claimed that their title should be stripped from them immediately.
They are cheaters! "Baby Bomber" (the team at issue) supporters retorted,
"Relax. It's just little league and besides we have conflicting documentation.
Who knows what is correct". (Notice they threw in a combination of
"complexity" and "ambiguity" to the situation instantly casting doubt about
the veracity of the accusations and implying that there may not even be
a "solution to the situation")
