Appear to Present Both Sides of the Issue Forum for Tactics
(Note: This tactic is still in "outline" phase. More to come on this subject.)

Technique: Appear to present both sides of the issue while actually setting up one side for failure, the other for success. Always present the “opposing point of view in its most extreme light. Ex. Issue – Minimum Wage. “There are those who would like to see the minimum wage eliminated (Although that is true, most people opposed to the minimum wage would settle for minimizing its growth and would never in a million years openly promote its eradication.) They say minimum wage destroys small businesses and disallows the free markets from working as they should. Others suggest that the Minimum wage should be increased to allow those who work hard every week to maintain a minimal standard of living and to protect workers from abusive corporations and black market labor.” From here you would choose your side and explain why it is the best and the other is not. Although the argument is truly one-sided, the overall proposal is remembered as one that was fair and balanced. After all arguments from both sides were presented before you presented your own opinion.
