Keywords For The Christian Coalition: Bigotry

BACKGROUND: This politically active right-wing organization, founded by bigot Pat Robertson, shamelessly promotes it's conservative agenda as the work of God; apparently the edited version - advocating the death penalty and blaming 911 on gays. It seems they have interpreted the bible to suit their needs, handily deleting all references to "Thou shalt not kill." And "All Gods children", etc. etc. Unfortunately, they are well organized and passionate about their conflicted beliefs. This makes them a force to contend with on any national issue.

STRATEGY: Although these people claim to know what God wants "Cause da' bible says so", In fact they do not speak to God. Thus, they do not know what God wants and they should be reminded of that. Indeed, pointing out the hypocrisy inherent in their philosophy may not change any of their minds but it might reveal to others how the coalition uses a facade of moral self-righteousness to promote their often cruel political agenda.

FACT: The Christian Coalition is hit with a bias lawsuit by its black employees, who contend they were prohibited from entering the front door of the coalition's Capitol Hill-area offices. The employees say they were told to enter the back door but were not given key cards to unlock it, forcing them to pound on the door for entry. Director Roberta Combs made statements that black staffers would wear out an Oriental rug in the reception area if allowed to come and go through the front door. Combs also allegedly said "she did not want important people seeing the 'girls' from remittance/data entry in the reception area." A former white employee is also suing Combs, saying he was fired for refusing to eavesdrop on the black employees.
