CHILDREN: Summary

AMMO

Bush (Aristocracy, Anti-Children)

FACT: Bush cuts the Childcare and Development Block Grant by $200 million. In addition, a program designed for child abuse prevention would be cut by eighteen percent, $15.7 million. Bush's budget would completely eliminate a $20 million program dedicated to improving early childhood education and development.

COMMENT: To keep this in perspective, the Defense budget is in excess of $360 billion (i.e. $360,000 million). To boot, a recent GAO reports shows that tens of billions of dollars are unaccounted for within this budget.

George W. Bush (Punish the Impoverished/Children, Tax cuts for the rich)

FACT: During the campaign, George W. Bush liked to say that he would "Leave no child behind." Soon after these proclamations, he announced that he was cutting spending on childcare and support for abused children by $200 million, in order to pay for his tax cut for the rich. In addition, those who actually need government support for childcare aren't getting a tax cut, even though they pay federal payroll tax.

Republicans (Honor and Integrity, Criminal, Child molesters)

FACT: Here is a quick list of those conservatives bringing Honor and Integrity back to the good old USA. 1) Republican activist Randy Ankeney 2) Radio Personality "Republican Marty" 3) ”Republican of the Year" Mark A. Grethen and 4) Mayor Philip Giordano. Besides being staunch Republicans, can you guess what these gentlemen have in common? Yup. They’re all child molesters.

Ann M. Veneman (Corporate Interests, Punishing the Children, despicable behavior)

FACT: The Agriculture Department proposed to get rid of the federal rule that requires the meat in school lunches be free of salmonella! Of course, if you're going to risk the lives of school children to pay off the meat industry, you can't have the Secretary of Agriculture call a press conference herself to announce it. So they got a low-level staffer to float the idea - just to see if anyone would notice. Faced with a massive outcry from consumer groups and parents, Veneman flip-flopped "The safety of our food supply, particularly school lunches for our children, is an extremely important issue and USDA will continue to take appropriate steps to ensure the safest possible food supply is available for all consumers."

Mark A. Grethen- (Honor and Integrity, Criminal, Child Molestation)

FACT: Thanks to his commitment to the conservative agenda, and his impressive history of financial support for GOP candidates and the National Republican Campaign Committee, Mr. Grethen was named "Republican of the Year" and was invited to Washington, D.C., by none other than U.S. Rep. Tom Davis of Virginia. But it turns out that the Republican Party wasn't Grethen's only obsession. He's also likes molesting kids, and has a 26-year prison sentence to show for it.
