ONLINE POLLS

Edwards is kicking ass in the online polls:

ALERT: These polls are ongoing -- VOTE NOW!!!

(Republicans are finally rising from their teary-eyed slumber to see Cheney getting massacred in the online polls. Thus, they've been doing their best to push the 'battle of the polls' in Cheney's favor. So far they've only succeeded...and just barely...in right-wing bastions Fox News and AOL (See Below. Let's give them a beat-down!!!))

* MSNBC has Edwards Up 60% to 40% in this poll with over 1,580,000 respondents so far.

* CNBC Has Edwards up 59% to 41%.

* CBS News has Edwards over Cheney by a margin of 81% to 17%.

* Right wing Fox News has Cheney winning 50% to 47%.

* AOL lists Cheney as the winner 51% to 49%.

* The CNN poll has Edwards destroying Cheney 78% 18% with nearly 200,000 votes tallied.

* The Wall Street Journal has Edwards crushing Dick 88% to 9%.

* Yahoo News shows Edwards dominating Cheney 62% to 32%.

CHECK OUT THESE ONLINE POLLS!! (Excellent Reference!)

Note: As for the ABC News line of bullshit:

ABC 'Insta-Poll' among more Republican Audience shows Cheney winning the debate 43% to Edwards 35%.

Here's the key though. Let's look at the sample:

Republicans: 38%
Democrats: 31%
Independents: 27%

If you recalculate that to represent the actual electorate, it's an Edwards win.

Apparently Peter Jennings even qualified the garbage poll, all but saying "don't believe it" when he reported it.

Check out the Debate Transcript

Debunking Cheney

The first question refers to the Paul Bremer Statements and Cheney responds with the biggest lie (among many) of his career...

CHENEY: "It's important to look at our in Iraq in the context of the global war on terror... [Saddam Hussein] had an established relationship with al Qaeda... What we did in Iraq is exactly the right course of action."

EDWARDS: "Mr. Vice President, you are still not being straight with the American people... There is no connection between the attacks of Sept. 11 and Saddam Hussein."

CHENEY: "I have not suggested there was a connection between Iraq and 9/11. But there is a direct connection between Iraq and terror..."

Cheney lies about claim that he has not linked Saddam Hussein and 9/11:

FACT: Cheney on 9/11 pilot Mohammed Atta on 12/6/01:

"...It's been pretty well confirmed that he did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April..."

FACT: The 9/11 Commission says that the available evidence does not support the original Czech report of such a meeting. (9/11 Commission report)

"A long resume does not equal good judgment. We've seen over and over and over the misjudgments of this Administration"

"Mr. Vice President I don't think the American people can take 4 more years of that experience."

- John Edwards VP Debate 10/04/04

And Finally...

From Paul Begala on a potential missed opportunity for Edwards:

Edwards is going into the details of his own med mal reform. He's now telling the story of the little girl who was disemboweled because a dirtbag corporation could've prevented it with a two-cent screw.

But why didn't Edwards point out that it takes a lot of nerve for Bush and Cheney to want to limit anyone's right to sue, when the only reason they're in office is because they won a lawsuit.

They lost the vote but won the lawsuit. Now they want to keep consumers from defending their rights. You can bet they don't want to limit the rights of politicians to sue to block recounts in Florida.

I watched the debate last night from the uk and I thought that edwards won do you really want another 4years with the neo con looneys in charge?

Posted by: andrw lusty-kyejjsua at October 6, 2004 12:47 PM

All the "debates" have "ignored" the GREATEST LIE EVER SOLD to the American people: the "official" 9/11 story.

Mounting evidence ("In Plain Sight"-movie, Stanley Hilton's $7 billion lawsuit -v- Bush administration, scientific tests proving alleged 9/11 cell phones calls were "impossible", etc) clearly reveals US media and Bush administration's full knowledge and complicity in the 9/11/2001 attacks against the United States. However -- no one "dares" mention 9/11 or the obvious news black-out and "cover-up" that has been/is taking place.

The 9/11 attacks were intentionally "practiced" and perpetrated by our own government in accordance with the PNAC plan for US global domination -- a plan President Bush has been/is following to the letter -- regardless of the cost in American lives or treasure.

PNAC was founded on the ashes of Paul Wolfowitz's rejected 1992 Defense Planning Guidance, by (now) VP Dick Cheney and William Kristol; and the ONLY country benefitting from this PNAC plan is Israel -- who also controls the US media and entertainment industries.

Isn't time SOMEONE "broke the seal" on this rotten can of festering lies and held the Bush administration accountable for the TREASONABLE acts it has committed against the people of the United States of America?

Best Regards,

Lonnie ("poppalon") Dayton

Curious to see how the media will spin Cheney's obvious loss. His deceptions(lies) were laughable. Happy to see Edwards as extremely intelligent, forceful, and extremely competent.

Posted by: James Massey at October 6, 2004 02:29 PM

Cheney is a thief, liar, murderer and con artist who has orchestrated policy changes in the US that have lost the respect of the world. He belongs behind bars, not presiding over the senate. Last night's debate showed the con artist at work, feebly attempting to convince Americans that we have had a 'victory' in Iraq, when the truth is that we are embroiled in a strategic disaster that has cost thousands of Iraqi lives and put them in worse shape than when they were under Hussein. The invasion and occupation of Iraq is a stain on the honor of this great nation and Cheney should be among those held accountable.

Posted by: Mitch Goldstein at October 6, 2004 02:33 PM

Dick Cheney should be ashamed for trying to explain away his relationship with Halliburton. Cheney is a warmonger and war profiteer who himself got multiple deferrments from serving in the armed forces. As with the rest of the administration that stole to white house and pulled the wool over our eyes, Cheney has and will profit greatly from this illegal, immoral invasion and looting of a sovereign nation.

"Crossing the Rubicon, the Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil' written by Michael Ruppert is a facsinating compilation of well sourced and documented evidence that places the culpability for the 911 atrocity squarely at the feet of Bush et al. It makes a strong case that these individuals are makig a play for authoritarian rule in order to ensure that Wall Street will survive the on coming world oil depletion reality.

It is a fascinating read, is available now at the From the Wilderness website and will be at retail outlets in a couple of weeks.

It gets a five star rating from this rather insignificant individual.

Posted by: brisa at October 6, 2004 03:46 PM

Edwards is a breath of fresh air!
Listening to Cheney was like playing some old outdated broken record, crackling with dust, obscurring clarity, and repeating the same old tired sound bites generated by the Republican Noise Machine.

America's sad affairs--Israel pandering.Only 3%of Americans are jewish. Both have forgotten, that the rest of us count.
edwards has to pander to the money handlers.he visited Israel and witnessed a palestinian bombing----what a fool-- a trip all paid by AIPAC.The Israelis deserve it buster edward!Palestinians have been killed by the thousands for their land.Seems both parties are in it for Israel--I say bring saddam back to Iraq as President, also Sharron to replace Bush and send all of our lackies to Israel.
wake-up America--know your history--Germany,Russia had the same problem--the masses will learn it by the hard way---many proxie deaths for Israel.

Posted by: george aregers at October 6, 2004 04:38 PM

Right on, Poppalon! It's frustrating - to say the least - to sit and watch the mediocre and blatant lies spun by Cheney countered by an assurance that Israel's interests will be protected. Great! As Israel continues to make the world so wonderfully safe for Jews (unfairly attached by culture to the Marxian/Straussian geniuses of the Likud and Mossad rulership), America's PNAC junta does so for Christians and Al-Quaida does so for Muslims.

And all three hope humans of all types ignore the old adage of "Who Benefits?" and look beyond the verifiable mutual support that the three have given each other.

Why would GE/Westinghouse (fill in for GE your own favorite one of the 14 mega-multi-nationals) possibly want to see their arms sales, "security" and media branches scrutinized for putting forward an agenda (of cultural conflict and the socialist/totalitarian/secularization of the World's governing bodies) that is going great guns right now?

The time is coming (the laws of physics demand it) where the increasing efforts to destabilize humanity into an increasingly absurd distribution of wealth and resources will, quite naturally, destroy itself. The more we actual humans anticipate, assist, and prepare for such a self-regulation of the state of humanity, the less stressful the transition will be, and we can begin talking productively again, having seen (as always) what has come of those who took it upon themselves to revel in injustice. And we will see that it not beliefs, or opinions, or ways of life, that poison our experience here; it's the ancient need of those with so much to have just a little bit more at the expense of the rest of us.

Or so it seems to me...

Posted by: Jay at October 6, 2004 05:00 PM

Watching Cheyney talk out of the side of his mouth trying to maintain his cool was almost laughable. The only thing that prevented him from cursing Edwards out was live TV. This administration has lied about practically everthing from the economy, environment, Iraq, education, tax cuts, 911 commission etc. It amazes me how many people are actually supporting the liar and vice-liar in chief. The security moms better wake up or they will have their sons being drafted so Haliburten can continue milking the tax payers

Posted by: Ron Brow at October 6, 2004 07:45 PM

The question to be asked should be: which candidate through words and action will be the most likely to piss off the fanatics of the world, thus inviting trouble to our own continent...which candidate is going to go out into the world and swat at the foreign hornets nest and intvite a royal ass stinging.

If anything happens to our country it will be because of clod hopper foreign policy and nothing else.

I thought Edwards made dick head look like one,he did a wonderful job at makeing dick look so angry ,cause the truth hurts

Posted by: becky sherman at October 7, 2004 03:20 AM

How could anyone support Bushco. Since taking office they have not done one thing FOR the people in this country except the multi-millionairs. Most people in the US make around 30,000 dollars, and wages are not going up. Kerry/Edwards want to take back the tax cuts for anyone making over 200,000 per year. If you can not live on 200,000 per year minus the tax especially since you get dozens of deductions when you make 200,000 per year, then you must have the government budget minders for your accountant. When are the wealthy in this country going to have to contribute something for the privilege to make that kind of money here and pay their share of the country's upkeep??? Bushco and friends are shipping away our high paying jobs, creating only low pay servoce jobs (a form of slavery), not funding education, infrastructure, affordable healthcare for the workers. And worst of all squandering our social security and other money to fund their schemes of war profiteering. And what is really dispicable is that they have made America the most hated nation on earth next to Israel. Let us all get our friends and co-workers, family members and fellow church goers out to vote these evil people out of public office. John Edwards said it like it is "this country can not afford another 4 years of Bushco"....

Posted by: Shannon Taylor at October 7, 2004 05:02 AM

John Edwards was WONDERFUL. He was clear and intelligent and had the answers for the average person.

Posted by: June Basche at October 7, 2004 02:48 PM

I don't know of any President and Vice President in the history of the Country that combined have done more damage socially, economically, and politically to America both internally and externally than Bush and Cheeny. These two dolts should be made to spend the rest of their natural lives locked up with Martha Stewart.

Posted by: John Q. Public at October 7, 2004 03:35 PM

RIGHT ON POPPALON AND JAY! PEOPLE THINK I'M CRAZY FOR EVEN SUGGESTING THAT THE US GOVERNMENT COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN 9-11. REMEMBER PEOPLE, THESE ARE THE ONES THAT TRIED TO SELL US THE "MAGIC BULLET" THEORY. THEY THINK NOTHING OF SENDING OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS INTO HARM'S WAY FOR A BUCK. DO YOU THINK THAT AMERICAN LIVES MEAN SOMETHING TO THEM? WE'RE JUST ACCEPTABLE LOSSES.

Posted by: DEBBIE at October 7, 2004 04:14 PM

I thought cheney pushed around words but didnt say anything, threw wild lies in the air when attacked, but mostly mumbled empty phrases, ignored questions, responded only indirectly to edwards, and seemed tired, divorced from reality, out to lunch, I don't see why anybody would call this "gravitas"

Posted by: sarah jacobsen at October 7, 2004 05:09 PM

Watching Dick Cheney during his debate, I thought I was watching a "South Park" cartoon parody of Dick Cheney, when in fact, it was actually him...a sour, dour, dark, mean, nasty, over-fed, over-stuffed, gluttonous power monger.

Posted by: Dennis Godfrey at October 7, 2004 06:29 PM

EVENTUALLY THE SO-CALLED FRINGE THEORY of the Bush administration's outright complicity in the horrors of 9/11 to further the neoconservative's apocalyptic global agenda (including its basic tenet of "perpetual war" to remake the world in America's image) is going to make its way to the forefront of the collective American consciousness. It will be seen as demonstrably credible, believable...inescapable.

EVERY HARD TRUTH IS INITIALLY DISMISSED as not credible, inconceivable, or fringe, because it is too hard to contemplate as being true. It is simply too hard to accept initially. It takes time for the hardest truths to be accepted, and such is the case here.

BUT IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME before the American people en masse, armed with overwhelming evidence and demanding full disclosure and justice, are focusing like a laser beam on the Bush Cartel's role in 9/11, confronting the individual players -- many of whom currently wield power in the highest levels of government in Washington -- prosecuting them and putting them where traitors to America and all the noble ideals she stands for deserve to be -- behind bars.

WE NEED TO PREPARE OURSELVES NOW FOR THIS REALITY. This will be a cathartic time for our American nation. We will become familiar with many shocking truths during this process. The names and number of individuals involved will likewise be shocking. But when this necessarily painful process is over, America will be stronger and wiser as she proceeds into her glorious future as the world's beacon of hope and freedom in the 21st Century and beyond.

IN JANUARY 2005, WHEN JOHN KERRY WALKS INTO THE OVAL OFFICE in his first day as the 44th President of the United States of America, the Bush Cartel's power to suppress and deflect and delay the truth surrounding 9/11 and their brutal, immoral role in making 9/11 happen will evaporate.

MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT, Bush & Co. fear this consequence of losing on November 2nd more than any other.

Posted by: paudy at October 7, 2004 07:22 PM

America is at a very CRITICAL crosssroads now. Regardless of the terroist agenda to destroy America, we are in danger of accomplishing it ourself. Whoever is elected, we are in for draconian times: a collapsing economy, the draft, a possible (Bush) reshuffling of the Supreme Court
and with it the future social/cultural/economic character of America, and an either soft or hard Police State.

And as the poll numbers have tightened up, I fear the chance of an "event" happening have increased proportionately, including possibly an either actual or "staged" assassination attempt.

Where is the America that we remember with its generosity, freedom, opportunity and idealism (NOT the sinister Neocon "idealism" that is being bandied about by the talking heads)? My heart cries for the America that I remember, the America I love, the America that has moved to the next level beyond "seriously wounded" to critical, disappearing, erased.

May the combined Voice of those who genuinely care about this America rise in prayer and gather into a universal will to PRESERVE that which is so precious and withering daily before our astonished and grieving eyes. It is still possible to stay the Execution.

Posted by: don at October 8, 2004 01:44 AM

Is there not one person in your country who can stand up and shout to Bush, "Liar, liar, pants on fire"? As a Canadian I feel half of your people (the half for Bush) are in total denial or else lacking fundamental intelligence! Fingers crossed for Kerry, obviously an intelligent man whose vision is so much wider than the Bushy. All of us will feel safer with Kerry as President because he will think before he acts I am sure.

Posted by: Joan Murphy at October 8, 2004 04:21 AM

In America we think that the right to express ourselves is a Freedom that has COST many lives. For the right to supress our thoughts feelings and ideas- resembles what many would have thought is a communist country.1 We WILL NOT let that HAPPEN VOTE KERRY/EDWARDS let them know those lives were NOT in VAIN
