ONLINE POLLS
Kerry wins! Kerry did his job. Now it's time to do ours!
ALERT: These polls are ongoing -- VOTE NOW!!!
After the VP Debate, we hit the polls with 17,000 voters. After the 2nd presidential debate we pounded the pollsphere with over 60,000 voters! and once again, we are rocking the online polls. Spread the word and GOTV!
NOTE:
* These polls can remain open for as long as TWO DAYS, so please keep at it.
* If there is any overlap with affiliate stations, I apologize.
* Also, if no results are yet posted for a poll, then the poll is most likely not yet open. Please check back frequently for newly opened polls!
* Finally, many polls seem to be asking questions other than "Who won?" (e.g. "Did the debates help you decide?"). I guess they didn't like Kerry looking like 'da man' while Bush looked like 'da chump'. Thus, some of the bigger polls might not be up and running. I will post a note next to those polls that ask 'alternative' questions.

CNN won't put up a new poll to vote for the 3rd debate. Afraid of a sweep?
Actually, I did not agree with the Kerry people who saw the third debate as a big win for their man. Separating the rating into a style and substance categories, I saw Bush as having greatly improved appearance and style from the earlier debates. As a Democrat I am prejudiced in the substance category automatically in favor of Kerry but Bush did not do as badly in this as in his previous appearances. Since style usually trumps substance on TV, I am forced to vote for Bush in this debate. Also I thought, Kerry went over the top on his mentioning Cheney's lesbian daughter from the gitgo on the question about gay marriage though I also agree with Rudy Giuliani on foxnews that this kind of transgression is not unusual in the current election campaign.

Kerry continues to demonstrate his ability to expose Bush as the most ineffective president of my lifetime. Bush shows what happens when his script writers are available to him. Its cleary time for change
I meant to say: "his script writers are NOT available to him.
That Bush did better tonight is debatable and not significant. He needed to outshine his opponent, and didn't. He still looked small and angry (like a fifth grader running for class president). Kerry looked thoughtful, statesmanlike and yes, presidential. Big win for Sen Kerry.
I disagree with Ralph. Improvement in style and appearance does not equate with victory. There was a general improvement in style by Kerry from the last debate as well. Kerry's answers were more direct, with fewer missed opportunities in topical responses.
Even more so than the last debate, Bush was shallow in the content of his delivery, rambling to the point that it showed.
People who say that participants in town meetings ask better questions than the media professionals are on target. Schieffer asked some "meat and potatos" questions, but also too many wedge issue and "touchy feely" questions. The last 1/2 hour of the debate was wasted by the moderator.
If "Ralph" (above, who voted for Bush and cited FOX news commentary approvingly] is a Democrat, then Bush is a Rhodes Scholar! But gotta give Ralph credit - he's more sophisticated than most freepers.
The moderator clearly left out 2 important domestic issue questions. The first concerns stem cell research and the second, the environment. Kerry holds a real advantage on both- especially on the environment where Bush reversed around 200 of our environmental protection laws in favor of the polluters as well as appointing the heads of the energy companies as the pollution regulators of the very same companies. In any event, Kerry won. Bush comes off like a fool. Kerry deserves the presidency- no question.
Also meant to add, Shieffer asked no questions about energy or the environment.
Some domestic issues debate !! Go figure !!
Shrub missed his calling. He should be in show biz with those faces he makes.

President Bush has such a poor record to draw from that he grasps for any, yes any supportive fact in domestic politics. On that ground he did well , but just not convincing enough to win. It's sad that is the best the Republican Party can do. The emperor truly has no clothes.

Kerry has showed the Bush dynasty, for what it is. A dynasty based on fear of the future, fear of change, fear of giving 47 million Americans an equal health plan, since they have none. Kerry has showed the vision of a Franklin Roosevelt, a Jack Kennedy, a Bobby Kennedy, men of vision in an otherwise blind world. Blind to the plights of the less fortunate. I know this isn't a Conservative strong point, but when does America begin to give a damn about it's own?
what's with the smirking and blinking?). There was also something wrong with Mr. Bush's face...the right side appeared slack and lower than the left, his coloring was quite red, one eye was closed more than the other. Was he ill?
The DU, the most vileist, hate-filled place on the internet (next to MoveOn.org) has hijacked a lot of those poll links, so they're pretty much invalid. Check it out.

By the way.. Bush clearly won. He did even better tonight than he did during the Town Hall debate.
The evening of debate had repetition over Iraq. Kerry remained strong as Bush continued his Comedy Central act! I regret the absence of questions around the environment, patriot act, and stem cell research. If I hear "freedom is on the march" one more time..... hopefully that will take on new meaning when John Kerry and John Edwards are inagurated in Jan.2005. Imagine how beautiful the strain of "Hail to the Chief" will sound when Kerry wins! The moderator did a poor job. Early in the debate I swear he nosed Kerry out of a rebuttal.
I watched the 3rd debate tonight and KNOW John Kerry is hands down the better candidate. As far as I am concerned there is no contest as for style, content, diplomacy, intelligence, integrity and straight talk about our future and our childrens future for this country. My only regret is there was no discussion about the most important issue of this election: the sorry state of the ENVIRONMENT under Bush's watch.
I am a woman of color and voting for our next president, John F. Kerry.
Bush was livid red faced, almost a blush or a hidden anger, his blinking was a morse code to Karl Rove, since his back was patted down by Kerry when they shook hands, hence no reciever.
I also noticed that Bob Schieffer did not address energy or stem cell research. Both would have been great opportunities for John Kerry. That being said, I thought Bob Schieffer was fairer than I had feared since his brother was Bush's partner in the TX Ranger Baseball team deal- I thought that that should have been disclosesd. However, he was less partisan than I thought in view of statements that he had previously made to Wolfe Blitzer.
A 'freeper' is a vile, mean narrow-minded right wing nut job. They have no morals and they don't mind cheating to get what they want. That's part of their creed. Lie and Cheat. They have a webside freepers.com and beprepared it's shocking how balant they are about their hatred.
This was a knock out punch for Kerry tonite in Temper, Az. He took on bush at every turn and outboxed him and won at least 12 rounds decisively! there was no contest here. pk51
Yes, the freepers like Bush. He is their man. No other president has sponsored so much hatred.
First thought Kerry should have been harder on the "Dope", but i then realized he has too much character to engage in negative rhetoric. Preidential? YES!!
Without a doubt, John Kerry won the debate. He fights for the middle and lower class. His leadership abilities will help him win the election, as well as make America strong, safe and respected again. I shudder to think what Bush could do if he were elected for another 4 years. Many of us would not be able to survive another 4 years of the same or worse! You go, Kerry!
Kerry won the debate by an overwhelming margin. He was erudite, to the point, and blazingly brilliant. Of course, to a large extent Kerry was helped by the fact that Bush's record is indefensible.
Bush cannot defend a rule prohibiting Medicare from bargaining for lower drug prices, etc. Kerry was really magnificent on the assault weapons ban, pointing out how Al Quaida's training manual advises terrorists how to take advantage of myriad loopholes in our gun laws. Bush was abysmal. He simply repeated the same old tired things. He claims that Kerry is a tax and spend liberal, but Bush is a borrow and spend rascal whose misdirection does not warrant association with any respectable form of liberalism or conservatism. Bush transformed a 5 trillion dollar surplus into a gaping several trillion dollar deficit and the record of failures goes on and on and on.
Bush looked like he was high on something again.Did you notice the drool? Kerry was outstanding again. He and Edwards are 4-0.
This is from your article. Either your poll results are wrong (or a typo) or Kerry has had more recent votes as the numbers now are Kerry 71%, Bush 29%. "* CNN America Votes (This is different from the on above. Vote in both!) (FREEPERS HAVE HIT THIS POLL. SPREAD THE WORD.)

After watching the three debates, I've concluded that this election is an IQ test for America. If Bush wins, America fails.
According to an anonymous White House source, the President likes to sing in the shower. His favourite song is Yankee Doodle, with some minor changes.
"Yankee Doodle went to Baghdad, riding in a HumVee,
saw some Arabs living there and killed them all by Sunday."
When questioned, the White House refused to comment.
Kerry won that debate easily. He look so Presidential standing there. I wanted to wipe the smirk off Bush's face.
Gotta remember that Bob Sheiffer is a longtime pal of George Bush. He engineered the questions away from the environment and other difficult subjects, opting instead to ask him about his religious faith--a deliberate softball. Sheiffer's bias showed mainly in what he DIDN'T ask.
Response on "how will you pay for it" that I wish I had seen and heard:
###
Not long ago a man explained that giving tax breaks to the wealthy and running deficits was nothing more than Voodoo Economics. It just couldn't be done. When that man, this Presidents father, became President himself, he had the opportunity to continue those policies, policies that his son has embraced or violate a campaign promise and correct bad economic policies. That's one key difference between the father, George H.W. Bush and the son. Even though he was aware that doing the right thing may cost him an election, he choose to do the right thing and put the economy back on the correct course. He placed America's needs above his political ambitions. But as we have seen, the son does not walk in the fathers footsteps.
My policy will be, like his father, to correct the imbalance. In my program I will be rolling back the massive tax breaks that were given to the richest 1% of Americans. George H.W. Bush knew that you can't dig yourself out of a hole. It's a lesson he obviously didn't teach his son. You can't live on deficit spending. You can't run up a credit card without a plan to pay it off. You can't give the wealthiest in America more, while taking from those that can least afford it.
My program will increase the revenues from those most able to pay, and will be used to provide a safety net for those that need healthcare. It will provide a safety net for those that have been forced out of the middle class by having to take jobs that pay an average of $9,000 a year less. And while we are doing that I plan on giving those who are under the median income more tax breaks so that they will have more money to save and spend, so that they can be the economic engine of growth.
This Presidents father knew Voodoo Economics didn't work and did something about it. I too know that this Presidents Voodoo Economics have failed the American people, and my plan does something about it.
Once again we saw the so-called liberal press in action, and this was reflected with the moderators of the debates. With the exception of the female moderator, all had close ties with the right-wing. Gibson a close friend of Brit Humus and Bob Shieffer a Bush buddy. I thought that the final debate shoud be on domestic issues, however Shiffty Shieffer started on international. Nothing was asked on the environment, race relation and stem cells.
The freeper site is also highly censored and if you post anything that disagrees with the party line you'll be banned. Happened to me after one post. A freeper commented that he didn't understand how a veteran could vote for Kerry, so I asked how a conservative could vote for Bush. I'm now banned. Mindless dolts...all of them.
Kerry should by all counts be our next president. He is "head and shoulders" literally over George Bush!
I haven't seen anyone comment on Bush's emphasis on community college as the path to higher education for the masses. Why didn't his daughters choose that route? Could it be that he believes smart kids from less affluent backgrounds don't deserve a chance to prove themselves at an elite university?

RALPHPLEASE.ORG OFFERS NADER PLEDGE OF SUPPORT
Grassroots Initiative Appeals To Ralph Nader To Withdraw His Candidacy
New York and San Francisco, 13 October 2004 – Ralph Nader today received an offer many hope he can’t refuse.
RalphPlease.org, a web-driven initiative designed to provide Ralph Nader with a compelling incentive to withdraw from the presidential race, went live today. Ralphplease.org asks individuals to sign a letter and to pledge a contribution to Public Citizen, Nader’s former organization, in support of many of his initiatives in the event he drops out of the presidential race.
“If Nader is in the race to achieve what we all care about – real campaign finance reform – and the voters show him their commitment to these goals, then he may better accomplish his goal by leaving the race,” said Ray Tekosky, a New York-based real estate broker whose idea sparked the campaign.
Unaffiliated with any Democratic, Republican or not-for-profit organizations, RalphPlease.org is engaged in a massive outreach effort to encourage contributions to Public Citizen to be used for campaign finance and electoral reform.
RalphPlease.org grew out of a concern that Nader’s candidacy combined with too-close-to-call competition in key states could ensure another term of office for President George W. Bush.
“We want real electoral and campaign finance reform and so does Nader,” said Maury Cooper, an organizational and career coach and another founding member of ralphplease.org. We want integrity returned to our electoral process, and so does Nader. But without cooperation, we may all end up with four more years devoted to big business, war profiteering, mind boggling deficits, environmental degradation, job outsourcing, lower standards of living for working and middle class people, vulnerable children left behind, and more.”
About Ralphplease.org
The RalphPlease.org project team has no affiliation with Public Citizen, but does share its goal of cleaning up our campaign finance and electoral processes. Ralphplease.org has a clear and simple message: By not withdrawing from the presidential race, Ralph Nader contradicts his decades of public service and advocacy for social change.
The website created for the campaign will post regular information on progress and invite other ideas for convincing Nader to withdraw. For more information, please visit www.ralphplease.org
Somewhere in Texas a village is missing an idiot.
Watching the debate last night was like watching a teenager & a teacher.
KUDOS to the soon-to-be President John Kerry!
I wish Kerry would drop to remarks about Cheney's daughter being a lesbian. It is such a personal thing, and I fear Kerry's remarks may go against him. He doesn't need that! Every vote counts...
Jodie
Both my husband and I noticed when the President was questioned about whether he would consider raising the minimum wage, his response was to continue touting his "No Child Left Behind" bill.
We both felt that Kerry was an excellent speaker and a master at the art of debating and are now convinced its time that "No Bush is Left Behind" in Washington to do anymore damage
I thought this statement to MSNBC hairjob Deb Norville, by Moderator Schieffer prior to the debate was quite telling...
"I think John Kerry has got to demonstrate that he can lead the country in time of crisis better than President Bush can, because that's what the debate and that's what the vote on the presidency is always about. Who do Americans feel most comfortable with in time of crisis? He has got to find a way to demonstrate and articulate that frankly he can do it better than the incumbent president. I think President Bush has just got to reassure people that he has the good of the country at heart, that he's had a mighty tough job, that the world changed after 9/11, and that he's not ever going to let the country be in the position it was on 9/11, when it was blindsided and attacked by these people who flew these airplanes into these buildings.
So far I think in this campaign, he's done a pretty good job of that, but this campaign is not over yet. I think it's the president's to lose at this point. "!!
Keep in mind that this debate is supposed to be about domestic issues. Outrageously, he simply repeats the main Republican talking points...9/11, 9/11, tough job, world changed, attacked, airplanes/buildings, blah, blah...and finally, before a pivotal debate, without ever mentioning that he is a close personal friend of George Bush, this so-called journalist asserts that Bush has 'done a pretty good job' and the election is 'his to lose' . No bias there.
how can anybody vote for a liar open your fuckin eyes u assholes, sorry i seem angry i just dont under what the american people r not seeing BUSH IS A CLUELESS LIAR,not worthy of the highest office in this country, why do u think his brother rigged the florida election, because bush could not get in on his own merit, because he has no merit,he is a fucking jackass who is destroying this country. Its funny, every middle class person that i talk to that is voting for this jerk can not name one justifiable reason for doing so he has done nothing for the middle class or poor,THERE SHOULD BE NO POOR IN THIS COUNTRY.anybody voting for bush is helping in the evil plan to squash the middle class out of existance, you are all assholes.
KERRY DOES IT AGAIN. IT IS TRULY AMAZING HOW BUSH CAN BE BACKED BY SO MANY OF THE MEDIA AFTER SEEING HIM WITHOUT HIS TELEPROMPTERS, BUSSED IN CHEERLEADERS AND BY INVITATION ONLY CROWDS. THIS IS A MAN TRULY OUT OF HIS DEPTH IN ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES ONE TO THINK AND MAKE SENSE AT THE SAME TIME. EVEN WHEN THE MODERATORS CLEARLY GAVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT HE COULDN'T PULL IT OFF. HOPEFULLY HE WILL LEAVE AS HE CAME IN, THROUGH THE BACK DOOR.
I'm actually totally disappointed in Kerry. I was hoping he'd show up that smug bastard, but he was constantly on the defensive! I thought he was supposed to be better than this at debating?
Also I think the repukes are on to our polling... websites are throwing them out right and left :( Why won't people just accept the truth that Kerry one! It's right!
Bush was his usual hysterical, robotic self, unable to give a truthful response to any question. he is a sort of officialized sociopath to the world. I disown him wherever I go, and on Nov. 2, he will be history although we shall bear the scars of his hideous
decisions for decades.
Why was a close personal friend of Bush allowed to "moderate"? Bob Sheiffer's brother is a long time biz associate of Buzh. No wonder Sheiffer threw nothing but softballs. His questions were all designed to make sure his good buddy never looked dumb (dumber). Maybe that's the reason that mental flea didn't need his wire.
Secondly, Buzh thinks that those of us out of work, or getting paid less need to go back to school ... NO! WE NEED JOBS! NOW!! Jobs that pay better than the $5.15 he's using to lure latins across the boarder with. I certainly don't blame anyone who comes here to work for better wages, but Buzh is using that to lower our wages for his filthy corporate friends. That little law was designed to have us blaming those who have even less than us as our problems. The corporate fox keeps telling us that migrants are our problems. Let's get rid of the puppeteers ... after we clean (White)house.
If Bush is elected again, there will be more unrest in the world. Many many more people will die. There will be more unemployment. The environment will be unable to recover from the onslaughts of his corporate friends. We will lose more of our personal freedoms. The world will become even more dangerous than it is today. But Bush and his friends will have made more money. Bush needs to go.
The debates were NO contest. John Kerry is clearly the winner of all three and will make a wonderful president!
The shrub with his smirks, his white drool and his morse code (blinks) show he is a man who suffers from dry drunkeness.
The guy can't speak for s**t and has no brains.
Do you really want 4 more years of this madness and danger.
Bushy is a man who is a psychotic who desires the end of the world to fulfill prophesy. He couldn't care less about you or me. Kerry in a Landslide '04!!!!
I watched as the little man who was appointed as my leader wore his best petulant smirk as he lied and tried to crack jokes at the expense of the Senator and then tittered at his own "witticisms".It is unfortunate for us that there will be no free election.
Someone commented on Kerry's discussion last night of Cheney's daughter.
Cheney's daughter is relevant and if that is all the Republicans have then they are in trouble!
Bush's continual harping on "the liberal from Massachetts" theme, is a loser.Anybody who didn't know that before last night is not likely to vote. Let's hope Bush keeps it up.
All the single issue voters are already committed.
Kerry should have reminded voters that Massachusetts is part of the United states, and has been so much longer than Texas.
This comment is directed to Jon Blakely.
No worry. We also felt that the event was a tie, it was clearly not a Bush win -- but we didn't think it was a Kerry win either. However, our previously undecided and still undecided friends did not agree with us. I was quite amazed that by a significant margin they favored Kerry in the debate, several of them commented that he "smashed Bush" badly. Since it is really the undecideds that matter -- all of us who are firmly committed to either candidate are mere window dressing to the debates -- when the official polls (real, telephone polls and focus groups) all showed the same thing that our friends told us -- that the undecideds broke to Kerry in a significant way -- I moved the debate to a win in my book -- because that's all that mattered.
As for the issue of online polls -- that is not something that you should worry about, don't fash yourself. Online polls have never been scientific, until the last 2 years the Right would win every one. I never saw an online poll won by the Left until the last two years. Additionally, the Republican party, at the level of the RNC, has been trying to counter Democratic efforts with online polls since the VP debate -- and overall they have failed. The online polls are a toy anyway, and if they go away, oh well. What our ability to win online polls does show however is something far more important than winning a non-scientific, professionally discarded poll -- it shows that we have become more organized online than the Right -- the same thing appears to be true on the street -- those are the important things.
Finally, be calm. It is now John Kerry's to lose. On PBS yesterday one commentator commented that he felt the polls were meaningless this year. 12,000,000 new voters have been registered, and the vast majority of them are Democrats - in swing states. Additionally, and from an article in a magazine, though I don't recall which one -- polls are missing an increasingly large portion of the country. While we are in our 30's -- and have a house phone (because I do some research from home, and the line for any phone call related must be secure - and cell phones aren't) even we don't answer our house phone normally, we let the machine get it. Most people (more than 50%) our age or younger and in our economic grouping have only cell phones and cable internet. This is borne out both among those of our friends who are young professionals (we have friends all over the lot economically) and by our tenants (we own multiple buildings), all of whom are young and only one household of whom has a house phone. So most young people 35 and younger are never polled -- an increasingly major demographic in the voting booth - which favors Kerry heavily - is therefore nearly discarded from the process.
All you need to do is vote normally and make sure that any friends you registered vote, and that your friends who were already Dems. remember to do the same.
The victory will be ours in a more sweeping way than you imagine.
Be at peace, have a pleasant day.

My 2c: the debates are over and this site has been VERY helpful in ID'ing polling sites to hit.
The next battle? Probably Republican efforts to suppress the vote.
What can be done to stop this?
I do pray that Kerry wins.
Otherwise we will all need to take to the Street to get our country back. GOD help us everyone!
Obviously Kerry is the better debater - he uses facts, not the tired repetitous lies Bush loves so. If the GOP steals this election, there will be extreme unrest in the country that we haven't seen since the 60s -- let's hope it's KERRY in a LANDSLIDE!
After the 2nd debate I had that awful, awful feeling of dread---that W would indeed get in again. If so, I will feel totally betrayed by my fellow Americans. I felt betrayed the 1st time but there were other corrupt forces at work. There will be NO excuse if he's re-elected, however. People have been thoroughly warned. All the truth is in our face. Most people just refuse to question authority & question themselves. We are a greedy, materialistic, power hungry, patriarchal, & shallow society. W is the product of our time. He is the mirror showing us ourselves. But most people don't see this. If he continues in office & drags us all down with him, those who voted him in again better not complain! W will eventually be villified like Hitler before him as a "monster", etc....but the thing is, Hitler too was a product of his time. True, he was a monster, but he wasn't some "fluke". He was a far more masterful a politician than W....the ultimate Machiavellian who snuck in & took over when people WANTED TO BE TAKEN OVER. If people turn a blind eye in any area of their lives, they are CHOOSING to do so. If W gets in again, it'll be largely due to fear & apathy. Then woes us...
Still I'm encouraged by Kerry's performance last night & the results so far in the polls. Hopefully, more people will wake up & get off of auto pilot by November 2nd.
I am a Republican but will be crossing party lines and voting for Kerry. It is obvious that George W. Bush lacks the leadership skills to lead this country for another 4 years and besides we just can't afford him.
Never thought I would ever miss Bill Clinton but we need someone like him to come back into office and clean up the mess created by the spoiled Frat boy from Crawford Texas.
I just hope that John Kerry is the man to do it.
Watched the debate with a neighbor last night. He kept telling me that Bush looked stoned, like he was on drugs. It took me about 10 or so minutes to see that. Was Bush on drugs last night? His face looked awfully red. What kind of medications would Bush be on that would cause his face to flush red?
Also, he kept slurring some of his words and I found it difficult to follow some of his answers (and non-answers).
When asked what he would do about people laid off he kept talking about community colleges. Is he nuts? Someone out of work needs work, NOW, not education for a couple of years? What are they going to do to eat? Textbooks?
Also, he LIED when he mentioned about veterans benefits! He's tried to close VA hospitals, he's eliminated extra combat pay, overtime, veterans now have to PAY to stay in the VA system, they HID the wounded who came back from IRAQ, he has not been to ANY funerals, sent our children into harms way without adequate protection, is charge $3/head to watch movies in Iraq, not to mentioned base housing, etc. I heard that at Camp Pendelton there is a soup kitchen because our soldiers are not paid enough.
Bush has to go very far away now. After he loses the election the trials for war crimes should start.
I also thought it was amazing that it was Kerry who brought up the Bible and quoted scripture. Isn't Bush the "Christian"?
And where the heck were the questions on energy and the environment? Moderators I'd like to have seen: Bernie Ward and Helen Thomas.
Bush had a nervous smirk on his face during more than 95% of the time he was speaking. That means that more than 95% of what he said was lies. It's a simple formula; smirk equals lie.
These debates are no more than bread and circuses for the narcoleptic masses. It is a Circus Maximus, a petty, meaningless load of quackery by two Yale-educated white boys from wealthy, elite families.
Who gives a crap about who was smoother in his delivery or who was more fun to listen to? They're both from the elite top 1%. The top 1% LOOKS DOWN ON the American Common Masses like a giant looks down on ants. We mean NOTHING to them.
Kerry voted FOR Bush's war, AND he supports sending MORE money to poor little Israel, who should learn how to take care of its own damn self. There is NO "choice" in this "election". This farce reminds me of the marquee of "Alien Vs. Predator"...."Whoever wins, we LOSE".
DON'T ENCOURAGE TYRANNY---DON'T VOTE.
The coungtry was duped by a gang of Rove inspired liars and they are just beginning to realize they have been had. This was Bush's war; the intell was fudged, and the point was to make a fool appear to be a hero. Enhough already: get the hook and let's get on with the business of democracy.
Where are the reporters, the journalists?
Why is not presented on the mainstream media that the leader of the most powerful country is wired-being told what to say? This is no longer an Internet Debate, there are photos.
Why bother having polls? Anyone who watched the first debate had to reach the decision that Mr.Bush is unqualified.
need more votes for Kerry on Fox
the Bushies outnumber Kerry voters by about 20,000
This site needs to be informed that KIRO 710 is in Seattle, not Arizona.
I would like Bush to actually answer the question about a woman's right to choose. The President is consistent in avoiding this question. Also, he said on appointing a supreme court judge, he would not require a litmus test. Wouldn't a President want to know where a judge stands on his/her issues.
Dear Editor, Oct.10.
We appreciate the two key questions Sen. Kerry has raised during the first Presidential Debate: Are we at war against Islam or against terrorism? Are we waging a war of liberation or occupation? He has opened a much needed debate on the role of America in the 21st century; specifically its relationship with the 1.2 billion Muslims worldwide. We need to hear more clearly the course of action he proposes, and the commitments he is prepared to make to achieve his stated objectives.
During the debate Sen. Kerry sought to distinguish himself from President Bush, by emphasizing that “I have a better plan to be able to fight the war on terror by strengthening our military, strengthening our intelligence … by reaching out to the Muslim world, which the president has almost not done, and beginning to isolate the radical Islamic Muslims, not have them isolate the United States of America.
He also stated that the US must “reach out to the Muslim world to make it clear that this is not, you know -- Osama bin Laden uses the invasion of Iraq in order to go out to people and say that America has declared war on Islam.” Sen. Kerry is saying that the present war should not be a war against Islam, and the US must reassure the Muslim world of this fact. If indeed that is what he means, then a clear commitment to that position would win him support at home and abroad.
Sen. Kerry also posed another decisive question about the overall objectives of the war by stating “I think a critical component of success in Iraq is being able to convince the Iraqis and the Arab world that the United States doesn't have long-term designs on it. As I understand it, we're building some 14 military bases there now, and some people say they've got a rather permanent concept to them. When you guard the oil ministry, but you don't guard the nuclear facilities, the message to a lot of people is maybe, "Wow, maybe they're interested in our oil."
Today there are two movements for democracy in the world: one directed at setting up the rule of law and fair distribution of power in each society, at the level of citizens, and the second striving for sovereign equality among nations, democracy at the international level. Which way is the United States headed? Will it recognize the rule of international law and the sovereignty of nation? That was the question implicitly posed by Sen. Kerry. We appreciate that he has raised the debate to a higher level by raising this question. We hope he will also supply a clear answer.
This line of reasoning – clear differentiation between protocols of occupation and liberation – could provide basis for a real meaningful distinction between the two presidential candidates. Sen. Kerry can further distinguish himself from President Bush by taking a firm and principled stand against the unconstitutional and un-American aspects of the USA PATRIOT Act and by supporting civil liberties and human rights for all. The courage of conviction to publicly support due process and equal justice for all and oppose ex post facto laws, secret evidence and secret trials could earn him the winning edge.
In the second debate, John Kerry raised two crucial ponts:1.In reply to Bush’s underlining that Kerry voted for Patriot Act, he retorted “ but not for what Ashcroft has done since.”2. He promised that in appointing judges to the Supreme Court, he will not discriminate on the basis of creed-whether he is Catholic, Jew or Muslim. Bravo Kerry.
However, we urge him to affirm cleraly that if elected, he will revise the provisions of Patriot Act, that are contrary to the U.S. Constitution -due process, access to courts, equality before law.
Finally, Bush committed more inaccuracies in the second debate asserting that Kerry’s healthcare plan will cost more-$2 trillion whereas Bush’s plan itself will cost $ 3 trillion.
Ambassador Syed A. Ahsani
John Kerry sharpened his differences with President George W. Bush while deepening his criticisms in the second debate Friday night in St. Louis. By dismantling the labels and images that the Bush campaign has spent many months — and many millions — to create, Kerry should appeal to independent voters who disdain those very labels and can judge issues on their merits.
On the issues that really matter to Americans — the Iraq war, access to health care, taxes and schools — Kerry was dominant. He conveyed both the big picture and then gave supporting details, showing America that he was a thoughtful, resolute and competent person who was ready to lead the nation.
The president, with the exception of the war in Iraq where, despite considerable evidence to the contrary, he believes he is right, did not make a persuasive case that four more years of his policies would improve things in America. The president simply said it was, attacked Kerry and his Senate record, and promised to do more. Often, he gave the response that his base wanted to hear; he didn't address Kerry's contentions.
One of the many examples of this dynamic was how Kerry staked out the turf that he's for the middle class and has a vision to deliver reforms by rescinding Bush's tax cuts for people earning more than $200,000 annually. Bush neither acknowledged nor defended Kerry's charge that his tax cut went mostly to the wealthy. Instead, the president kept repeating that the latest of his four tax cuts went to the middle class, as though that were sufficient.
Kerry spent the night deflecting the "euphemisms" he said Bush so strongly tried to affix to him. In his best moment, Kerry displayed the hypocrisy of Bush's biggest promise of character from the 2000 election: that he would be a “compassionate conservative.”
"But look, what's really important," he replied to the moderator, ABC's Charles Gibson, "is the president is just trying to scare everybody here with throwing labels around. I mean, 'compassionate conservative,' what does that mean? Cutting 500,000 kids from after-school programs, cutting 365,000 kids from health care, running up the biggest deficits in American history? Mr. President, you're batting 0 for 2."
Kerry, later in the debate, used the same approach when responding to a question on Bush's environmental record. The president spoke first about his “achievements.”
"The Clear Skies bill that he just talked about," Kerry began, "It's one of those Orwellian names you pull out of the sky, slap it onto something, like "No Child Left Behind" but you leave millions of children behind. Here they're leaving the skies and the environment behind."
Kerry also showed that Bush was not a man of his word. When a member of the audience asked the president what he might to do help import prescription drugs from Canada, Bush answered that he would do it, but not until he could be sure that Americans would be safe in buying them from "a Third World."
Kerry reminded Americans that Bush had made this same promise four years before. "You heard the president just say that he thought he might try to be for it," he said. "Four years ago, right here in this forum, he was asked the same question: Can't people be able to import drugs from Canada? You know what he said? 'I think that makes sense. I think that's a good idea' – four years ago."
Kerry also contrasted Bush's priorities to plainly reveal that Bush had made real choices in his four years. Kerry said the president made a choice between tax cuts for the wealthy and spending taxpayer money on a long list of Homeland Security initiatives.
"He chose a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans over getting that equipment out into the homeland as fast as possible," Kerry said. "We have bridges and tunnels that aren't being secured, chemical plants, nuclear plants that aren't secured, hospitals that are overcrowded with their emergency rooms. If we had a disaster today, could they handle it? This president chose a tax cut over homeland security. Wrong choice."
By now, most Americans know the differences between Bush and Kerry on Iraq. But whereas Bush keeps reciting the same lines, Kerry explained what his position was and used new examples to make the case. The president jumped on Kerry, saying he couldn't lead a coalition if he was insulting the participant countries. But Kerry told viewers that the President's vaunted coalition was in fact crumbling.
"Mr. President, countries are leaving the coalition, not joining," he said. "Eight countries have left it. If Missouri, just given the number of people from Missouri who are in the military over there today, were a country, it would be the third largest country in the coalition, behind Great Britain and the United States."
Just as Kerry had framed it, the audience really saw "more of the same" from Bush.
The debate itself was proof-positive that to speak and use words in a compelling way — for listeners on radio and viewers on television — is not the same as reading those words in print. He also showed, unlike the president, that he could respect people he did not agree with, such as the women who asked about abortion and stem cell research.
The last question brought this distinction into the clearest relief. Bush was asked to tell the American people three mistakes he had made in office. He replied that Iraq
was the right thing to do, and finished by finally acknowledging a mistake — he had appointed some people he wished he hadn't to high office. Presumably, he was not referring to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld or National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice or Attorney General John Ashrcoft. More likely, he was referring to former Treasury Secretary Paul O' Neill or EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman. As political observers know, their biggest sin was failing the loyalty test by speaking their minds and disagreeing with the president.
Again, he showed that he is out of touch with reality on Iraq.
• Again, he offered no plan for jobs and no plan for cutting the cost of health care.
• Again, he pretended that our problems don't exist.
• Again, he refused to level with the American people.
• George Bush just doesn't get it, so he can't fix it.
John Kerry held George Bush accountable for the failures of the last four years. He demonstrated the strength and character we need in a president. He made it clear he could lead as commander in chief.
John Kerry offered real solutions to real problems. He told America the truth, and offered a plan for a fresh start on the economy, Iraq, and the war on terror. Simply put, he was presidential. Ironically, the president was not.
Right now, I'm here on the front lines in St. Louis. Down the hall
Why in the world monkey boy thinks that 'no child left behind' is something worth gloating about is beyond me. That 'education bill' is nothing more then a way for the goverment to get ahold of your childs' personal infomation. That information is given to military recruiters and then they go after your child via your home home phone, address etc. It's another invasion into our personal rights. And they(gop goons) say they want us to have 'less' goverment. I say they are liars!
ATTENTION: ANYONE WHO HAS A SON OR DAUGHTER IN HIGH SCHOOL NEEDS TO CONTACT THAT SCHOOL 'IN WRITING' AND FORBID THAT SCHOOL FROM RELEASING YOUR CHILDS INFORMATION TO THE GOVERMENT. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.*******
Criticizing Sen. Kerry for mentioning Cheney's lesbian daughter is hypocritical. Were Bush and Kerry wrong to bring up their hetero credentials (loving wife and daughters)! What GOP-ers are really afraid of is that the Christian Right won't support a presidential team that sanctions gay relationships. Cheney and his wife are obviously proud to have an out daughter, and Kerry should be congratulated for bringing this up!
After Democratic Party candidate John Kerry's acceptance speech recently, the question whether a Democrat can beat Bush was answered resoundingly in the affirmative. Riding out of the Boston convention with a five-point lead in one poll, and barely three months to go, John Kerry has a very good shot at deposing George W. Bush. Some of us will be surprised if he does not win in a landslide. The more vexing question is whether, if elected, a Kerry presidency will change very much at all.
In a stringently stage-managed show of unity in their Boston convention at the end of July, Democratic Party leaders carefully muffled internal policy divisions, especially over whether to reverse the upward redistribution of income (instead of just "paying down the debt"), and whether to withdraw from Iraq or else "stay the course" there, as if democratizing Saddam Hussein's domain were actually George Bush's goal.
Amid red, white and blue balloons, confetti showers and throbbing music a smiling Kerry promised "a stronger America" and to uphold "the values of America's working families" for whom "wages are falling and health care costs rising".
John Kerry attacked Bush's arrogant foreign adventures but, nonetheless, an anti-war plank was thwarted in backroom party struggles to preserve Kerry's image as a tough guy, and one woman with an "end the occupation" sign was hustled out of the convention hall as soon as she lifted it. The party regulars, of course, are mostly a swarm of ambitious sharks who are happy enough to promote whatever agenda gets them where they want to go.
So, to appease the right, Kerry, playing on his record as a decorated Vietnam veteran, promised 40,000 new troops (but not, he said, for Iraq) and more special forces (presumably for Iraq, and future Iraqs).
A New York Times/CBS poll found that 56 per cent of Democrats urged the United States troops to "leave Iraq as soon as possible, even if Iraq is not completely stable," while only 38 per cent believed the that the US should stay for "as long as it takes to make sure Iraq is a stable democracy."
Yet party insiders forced anti-war groups to swallow the feeble platform statement that "people of goodwill disagree about whether America should have gone to war in Iraq." Kerry also joined Bush in utmost support of Israel, which crazily excludes any reflection on the role of the unresolved Palestinian crisis in stoking terrorism.
John Kerry can hardly differ much from President George W. Bush when his campaign is competing for the same few swing "centrist" voters' as the Republicans seek.
This strange bind occurs because only half the potential American electorate matters. Just 51 per cent voted in the 2000 election, and those who do vote are disproportionately drawn from the well-off segment of society, which inevitably encourages conservative stances in both parties.
A Democrat, like Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton or John Kerry, may be elected but the natural Democratic majority constituency is shrugged off.
So the Americans who live paycheck to paycheck will foot the bill for the Iraq war while oil companies, arms merchants, and "reconstruction" mega corporations like Halliburton rake it in. Republicans zealously slash services for the needy while raising taxes on average income earners to pay for the tax cuts for the rich and for Pentagon gadgets. But it's mighty hard to see what Democrats, especially under former president Bill Clinton, have done to change it. Half the US, mostly people of modest means, have been turned off the formal political process by a lack of candidates who dare to say anything that answer their needs.
Why is that? The Democratic Party coffers - not unlike Republican pockets - are filled mostly by big firms, banks, and affluent donors who naturally steer policy their own way: public order (keep the poor down); low taxes on themselves (cut education, housing and health spending); and strong defence (feed avaricious arms firms and foreign investors who the military really exists to protect). Perhaps the reason why Bush junior had to establish an explicitly named "Homeland Defence" agency was in order to remind the pampered military that occasionally they are more than just hired guns at the service of United States capital abroad.
What do Americans get beside expensive military fireworks shows on their television screens? Since 1973, productivity in the United States rose by a third but the benefits were all captured by the upper 20 per cent.
For everyone else living standards have been stagnant or slipped backward. Nearly half the new jobs with the highest growth rates today pay paltry wages no one can live decently on.
Meanwhile, 61 per cent of US corporations paid no tax at all last year, and over a hundred billion dollars in government subsidies for corporations exceed all state aid to the needy. Predictably, as the Democrats "pragmatically" slide rightward to court affluent "centrist" voters, the Republicans shifted ever more further to the rabid right. Hence, we ultimately get the current Bush administration, many of whose members were regarded 25 years ago as nutty extremists.
Kerry's advisers believe that they need not make many concessions to the liberal left because the left has nowhere else to go.
The situation is not so different in Pakistan where elites in the major parties have little except rhetoric to offer the poor, who comprise two-thirds of the nation.
No doubt the two countries appear similar, not only facing terrorism but also in their attitude towards the poor. The United States has brought security laws which have put the Democrat candidate in the league of many of his allies.
When the United States left did find a candidate responsive to their concerns, such as Ralph Nader, they were roundly vilified for helping elect Bush (with critics conveniently forgetting that far greater hordes of registered Democrats voted for Bush). Nonetheless, the Democrats must say something to the numerous non-wealthy: the squeezed middle class and, as Kerry put it, "those struggling to join it, who deserve a fair shot."
Kerry's convention speech undeniably hit strong chords slamming Bush's loose way with the truth at home and abroad: "I will be a commander in chief who will not mislead us into war." Kerry, despite a pro-free trade Senate record, vowed to protect American jobs from export. Despite a commitment to a balanced budget as the highest priority, Kerry teasingly declared that health care "is a right" - dangling the prospect of a national health care system.
According to the polls, the American public overwhelmingly favours a multilateral defence policy and the shifting of money from defence to social needs. (Recall that right up to the Iraq invasion most Americans opposed an attack without a second UN resolution.) All these measures are deemed unspeakably "liberal' by corporate media.
Kerry's stated intent to keep troops in Iraq until international forces stabilize the country can be construed as either a hard-line stance or as a convenient "cover" for a quick pullout. It is hard to say. Could Kerry be feinting one way during the campaign in order to go the other way afterward?
Kerry may not know what to do as yet, but Iraq clearly cannot be held at a price that the United States public is willing to pay.
In the 1930s, President Franklin D. Roosevelt began as a balanced budget advocate but experimented his way into the New Deal, which rescued America from the Great Depression and prepared it for the fight against fascism.
A tendency to "flip-flop", for which Kerry is ridiculed, is not a weakness but a likely asset for any intelligent leader. The whole point of democratic politics is that the un-moneyed public can pressure otherwise insulated and imperious politicians to do flip-flops.
That's a vital sign of a functioning democracy. And it is all one can hope for in a new Kerry administration after the repugnant regime in Washington is tossed in the rubbish bin. Perhaps people other than shrewd party elites and their cronies will begin to matter again.
I see comments about Bush smirking, Bush being a "dry drunk," and other remarks about his appearance. Personally, I found myself wondering if the President has had a stroke: he was trying all evening to smile, but it didn't even come out as a smirk. The left side of his mouth wasn't working; only the right curled up, while the left slid towards his jaw. Can a doctor comment on this?
I wonder if any of the right wingers have ever gone to their dictionaries(gasp) and looked up the word LIBERAL? If they had they might just be surprised to learn the true difinition of the word. I'm PROUD to be called liberal. Then they should look up the word 'conserative' Oh but what am I thinking that they would truly care about words and meanings, their only true concern is MONEY and reducing their taxes. Education? Nah! Environment? Nah! Healthcare? Nah! Prescription drugs? Nah! Jobs? Nah! Homeland security? Nah! Homeless? Nah! Yep, call me liberal and I will thank you whole heartedly!
I thought Kerry did an excellent job in showing America the difference between a President who can lead us and provide hope and having a lying neandethral running the Country. I think everyone making such a fuss over Kerry referring to Cheney's lesbian daughter was ridiculous. Kerry's comment was totally appropriate and he showed diplomacy and sensitivity in how he said it. It is relevant because the gay community is made up of someones children, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The Bush hypocrits try to make it faceless, just as bigots try to make people of other races faceless. Kerry made it an issue of real human civil rights, by pointing out the hypocrosy and the reality of peoples lives. I was disappointed that no questions were asked about the environment, stem cell and the patriot act, but we only have to watch the news and notice events to know Bush has totally been destroying our environment. I only pray that the Republicans dont fix the election, because I have no doubt that the majority of Americans are smart enough to know a Hitler when we see it. If Bush gets in we will loose whatever Democrasy we still have at the very least and perhaps our Planet Earth. Bush smirked through the first debate and after loosing tried to balance it by scowling. Tonight he had a smirk, scowl, one side of his mouth was turned up in a smirk and the other side a scowl. He showed the true phoneyness of his little Sociapathic self. The man is a criminal, not a President. I also noticed how Bob Scheifer avoided letting Kerry get in replies to some of Bush's distortions. Like voting against the partial birth abortion ban. Kerry did explain, that the law left no allowance for the life of the Mother. That is the insanity of these Christian neo- Nazis. They place more value on an embryo than the life of a Mother or her children that she gives birth too, goes through a life time of changes, nurtures to adulthood and is then sacrificed to Bush for oil, poppy and reconstruction profits. Jesus fed the poor, Bush wants to starve the poor, Healed the sick, Bush wants to take away their medicare and make medicines unaffordable, preached loving our neighbors as ourselves and bringing peace to the world. The Christian Bush movement, have divided the country and want to kill anyone who does not beleive the same as them, they start a war with the rest of the world. They seem intent on fufilling a prophesy to make armagaedon happen. Guess what, it is happening and Bush and Cronies the Anti- Christ. Everything he says and does is the complete opposite of Christs teachings and they are the very woflves in sheeps clothing Jesus warned us of. I can only pray that true Christians diluded by these wolves, wake up and choose life and peace for this planet over the hell on earth Bush and Cronies have created for us.
Kerry gets the hat trick. But we must admit it's a hollow victory. Kerry was engaged in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
KERRY WAS WONDERFUL AND WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.
Oh Oh! With poll results like this, I smell an "October surprise"
pr.
Bush's comment to the American worker who lost their job to overseas outsourcing, was something along the lines "More education!" well Bush, I have 2 associates and a BA, and the only employment opportunities available to me are stingy low payin temp agencys. What about the educated Americans who are out of work eh Bushy? If we could all be doctors we might not need health insurance....
WHY DO PEOPLE BELEIVE BUSH'S LIES?
Fact: The Rovian Puppet Bush lies. This is supported by the evidence. Why do people beleive him?
The answer is Televison (a.k.a. - the opium of the masses). People believe what they see on televison.
This is why the Sinclair Broadcasting issue is so vital. If they are allowed to air their piece of anit-Kerry propaganda, it could be the death-blow for all sane people.
EVERYONE: DO ALL YOU CAN TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENEING!! Go to the FCC Website. Phone Sinclair and preach the good word
.. Let's not loss this election because of some monied interest!
Start one-drop beat...
"My name is Doctor Love
"Call my number any time
"I'm available, just call on me
"My name is, Doctor Love
"I can mend your broken heart
"Replace your pretty smile
"Call on me when you need some love
"My number is double-six, oh-nine
...end one-drop beat
The entire left side of Bush's face sagged as if he has suffered a stroke. That would also explain his slurred speech.
Yes I agree orwellian, I did call the FCC they aren't taking complaints via the phone, so I am going to write to them, you can get the address at fcc.gov/ I also called my local station that is owned by sinclair and voiced my dismay at this decision. They were rude and almost hung up on me, she asked "do you support this decision? I replied "no" then she hung up. I am going to follow up with a letter. This is maddening to say the least. The media in this country is a DISGRACE.
Note: the nice lady at the FCC said that they were looking into this and a decision has not been made yet, I told her what the other lady at my local station had said and she stated again that a decision has not been made, so in other words it still could be stopped,no matter what your local station is telling you. Keep hitting these people hard. I also called the Sinclair group at: 410-568-1500 but haven't gotten through yet, busy, alot of people must be calling! Keep up the fight for justice.
We need some votes for Kerry in the Springfield News Leader, Springfield Mo. This is home to John (KGB) Ashcroft, and Roy Blunt the Majority Whip in congress.
The URL is http://www.news-leader.com/today/index.shtml
Bush needs to go back "home on the range" with his cows; Kerry leaves him in the dust at every turn. If it weren't so frightening, it'd be almost laughable -- the difference in their intellectual level is unbelievable. Bush is literally killing us.
Are you Bushys serious? Bush cannot answer any question directly - keeps falling back on education, "working hard", or some other lame point.
You people are clueless.
Thankyou Darla. Yes, Bush really is killing this country on every conceivable level. I think all Kerry/Edwards supporters should e-mail or call every single "Repuglican" broadcasting corporation, such as Fox and Sinclair, and complain about the skewed as well as extremely biased Repuglican reporting.
This has now happened twice. How could the National Networks claim that in the last two debates there was a one (1) point lead by Kerry--50 - 49%. It doesn't add up.
Excellent Effort, Sue. Big corporations are frustrating --- one feels as though one is merely shouting into the wind. Big media is particularly insidious; they can spew their propaganda into the public airwaves and claim 1st amendment protection.
Bye-the-Bye, the FCC has already ruled on the Sinclair issue; they were given the go-ahead. I pray the Kerry team is planning a counter-offensive.
It’s happening again – we have someone (Kerry) who appears willing and able to at least try to help Middle America, and big corporations are flattening us with their money and power.
There must be a way to fight this!!
“We live in Orwellian times, where obvious falsehoods are asserted brazenly as truths.”
Kerry is very comfortable in his faith. Earlier he spoke of his Catholicism with real reverence. Now he's applying his faith to public policy, asking if we're really doing all we can to love our neighbors.
Man, this is good. A home run for Kerry on Bush's home field
Kerry just complimented Bush for his comments after 9/11. Then he turned the tables on him, reminding people that Bush squandered that unity. That Bush went from being a uniter to being a divider is one of the great failures of his administration
Hey, kiddies! The Buldge that ain't in his crotch this time!
http://www.washingtondispatch.com/culture/archives/000651.html
Okay, so THIS TIME maybe they're going to DECEPTIVELY admit that the pResident WAS wearing Kevlar, BUT WHY? Is Bush so frightened of an already screened and pureed audience of Americans that he's still gotta' be sure nobody's gonna' kill him if he gets shot at?
I've got a much better explanation for you regarding the truss clasp obviously situated on Bush's back and under his coat. This evidence also relates to what I observed from the first to this final debate.
Especially during last night's Apocryphal confrontation, if you watch the left side of Bush's face, it seems to be suffering from an ever-so-slight case of paralysis. I believe that BUSH HAS HAD A STROKE! What he's wearing under his coat is a BACK AND SHOULDER BRACE that makes it easier for him to stand and otherwise move around!
In spite of this support harness however, moving about is still VERY tiring for Bush, so to make him more "energetic" and mobile, Bush is also being fed amphetamines and pain killers! Why do you think he blinks and drinks and fiddles so much? Drymouth is a mother-f'r! I had my own "substance" consumption problems during the '70's and the '90's AND I KNOW! Why do YOU also think he was almost laying down on the podium during the first debate?
Yet another piece of Bush's brain has died, and in the process, America is also getting slaughtered.
Dan
I don't know whether Bush's "aw, shucks" phony hominess bothers me more than the petulence and stridency he exhibited during the last debate. In either case he can't seem to avoid smirking and punctuating his comments with "don't you get it?" facial expressions.
I didn't even watch the third debate because I knew that Bush would have no answers. The first two debates reminded everyone that the Bushies are the real problem facing the world. I talked to a freeper the other day ,and I asked him why he supports Bush and he said that we are safer with Bush at the helm. When I told him their were much more incidents of terror in the world since Bush stole the White House, he threatened to beat me up. Typical of a Bush supporter. When you challenge them on the issues, they react so defensively, it's hilarious. Remember people, this election is very important, because if Bush wins, everything bad that has happened in the world will increase 10 fold. Kerry will restore the dignity that Bush has squandered since 2001. Vote for Bush, and you deserve everything you get, and don't say we didn't warn you!!!
I agree, the last 1/2 hour was a waste. I live in Uruguay, south america but I do care about US politics because they rule the world but I wonder. Will be a significant difference with Kerry? After all, I think that the US president do not make decissions at all... It´s the army and the big companies who do them and if you do not follow them (or in the case of Bush, you´re completely innefective), well, some examples. Kennedy or 9/11-time´s-up-let´s-do-some-business-jerk-off-keep-reading-the-stupid-book-of-the-pet-goat-we-need-oil.
that´s the way I see it.
I haven't seen any comments on this from the media but I thought Kerry got Bush to lose it again although in a more subtle way. To me, Bush's face was flush, his voice again was shrill, although Rove must've told him to tone it down toward the end through Bush's ear implant. But Bush's most visibly irritated expresssion was that sardonic smile. That big "Whew!" after a Kerry response was also an indicator of his exasperation and non-presidential demeanor.
I am completely disgusted with this country! I am so angry right now at the FCC and their stupid 'ruling' to let these neocons put that anti-kerry smear on public air waves! These people have no morals or sense of fair play within their bodies. They don't care if they subvert the goverment to win, they are vile and mean. I am so embarrassed to be an American right now. I can't wait to leave. And when bush brings in the draft I will be leaving as I have an eighteen year old and I won't let him fight a war for profit/oil. I am just really down right now. All the news today sounded bad, even Michael Moore sounds like there is no hope. I'm going to bed. Sorry everyone....
I am quite surprised that no-one picked up on Bush's near major gaffe when he started to say (approximate quote) "In all due respect, I think it is a mistake to give any credence to the major news" and then stopped and said "never mind that". He was either being stopped by Rove in his earpiece or realized that he was going into some delicate area that the press could jump on him about. Nevertheless, somebody should have picked that up and speculated on what Bush was going to say and where he was going with that.
I appreciate the candor this site offers; I thank you for opening up truth as it is a word this Bush Administration cannot even spell.
Keep it up!
BUSH will win and this will be a better place because of it.
I think Tony lives in la la land
Tony, how will we be better off with a bush win(ahem)? Will our economy flourish? Will unemployment do a turn around? Will the RICH have to finally pay their fair share? Will all americans 'finally' get healthcare? Will my elderly parents be able to pay for their medicines? Will education get funded? NC should use a good education system if seems! Will young men and women stop dying for nothing? Will ANY repuke ever take responsibility for ANYTHING????? monkeyboy won't win this election, he will have to cheat just like he did last time. He and his croonies will subvert the goverment in order to do so. It's so sad to see such ignorance. Tony, do some research and educate yourself, you're sounding like a sap. P.S. Iraq had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9-11.
