How could Bush not make Condi his Secretary of State?

After all...
She covered for him (by courageously sacrificing her aide Stephen Hadley -- who will, in turn, be rewarded with Condi's old job as the head of the NSC) when the nuclear heat was turned up on the Nigerian Yellowcake fiasco.
She lied for him to cover up his incompetence in the 'War on Terror'
She aborted her NSA duties to campaign for him.
She insisted on further nuclear testing for both the US and China for him. Now that's what I call 'national security'.
She supported Bush's bigoted quest to eliminate 'Affirmative Action'. What better source of credibility on the subject than a 'person of color'. Little known fact, I am actually 1/8th Native American. Should I have flaunted that tokenism as well in order to take a stand in favor of Affirmative Action? Damn right I should have... and I do!
But don't fret. Condi has other things going for her.
Don't forget, she has an oil tanker named after her.
Hell, she even perjured herself in front of the 911 Commission for him.
For all these wonderful things, Ms. Rice has been crowned Secretary of State. ( I can't wait to see the look on Bush's face when he finally figures out that the Secretary of State doesn't actually 'type', 'file' OR 'take phone messages'.)
That, my friends, is true love. Who said Republicans were insensitive, despicable, lying, conniving demons? Oh yeah, that was me. Well then, perhaps I should rethink my position.
Shucks! Who am I kidding? If Republicans are capable of lying, cheating, stealing, committing crimes, deceiving the American people, and sending innocent people to their death in a war of lies -- all while smiling from ear to ear -- AND in the name of love...well... then I'm all for it.
You see, its an 'ends justifies the means' scenario where the end isn't so mean. In fact, its a loving end... if you know what I mean.

Why would you trust an unattributed sentence from the people's daily that the US and China will discuss resumption of nuclear testing? Bush Administration, with all their faults, hasn't come out in support of underground nuclear testing. You need some critical thinking skills. you're blinded by your disgust. understandable, but that's not a way to be persuasive.

But let's not forget something. We expect Bush to reward incompetence and encourage corruption. It's his MO. (Look at Tenet and Bremer and Franks, oh my!) But that's not the reason Rice is Secretary of State and Gonzales is Attorney General.
These two venal and corrupt people are now in these positions of power because Senate Democrats are, let's face it, wimps and weasels. If they had any guts at all, they would have filibustered these outrageous appoitments, and neither one would have ever come up for a vote.
