Note:
Politicalstrategy.us is a more ambitious effort than we had at first
predicted. Thus, with our desire to get the site up and running combined
with our gross lack of patience, the site is still a work-in-progress.
Please bear with us as we enhance and expand in the months to come. Thank
You.
"All war
is deception"
- Sun Tzu
Politics is war.
It is a struggle for ideological domination. It is about life and death,
determining whether we live in peace or die in battle, whether we enjoy
vast riches or suffer in abject poverty.
The recent gains by republicans have tipped
the scales to the dark side of the ideological spectrum threatening many
of the things that progressives hold dear.
Our purpose
in building this site is to help tip the scale back to the progressive's
advantage. We hope to accomplish this by providing the progressive majority
with a resource for political trench warfare, suggesting various strategies
and tactics and providing the necessary ammunition to execute them effectively.
So here we go.
The Political
Strategy arsenal is broken down into two main categories: "Strategy"
and "Ammo"
"Strategy"
focuses on developing policy and promoting messages. It is broken down
into two subcategories: "Tactics" and "Policy"
-
Tactics - Tactics
are specific actions that you can take to debate, attack, defend or otherwise
promote your agenda. They are the actions that support the construction
of the policies that ultimately form the overall strategy or agenda of
an organization. These tactics can be used at every level of political
battles, from grassroots to campaigns. Some are clever. Some are commonsense
and some are downright despicable. Which ones you choose to use are up
to you. Your choice of tactics should depend on your need to appear as
a "likable" person. Candidates should shy away from the dirtier tactics,
relegating those to the grassroots soldiers and non-staff associates.
-
Issues - This
category (See "Policy Archive") presents information and ideas for various
issues. The intent here is to provide the general progressive positions
on the issues with the evidence and rationale to back them up. This should
strengthen any attempts to put republicans in their place when debating
these issues. More importantly, it should help convince those in the center
of the political spectrum or otherwise undecided individuals that the progressive
stance is the one that simply makes sense.
"Ammo"
provides powerful facts useful in refuting and attacking conservatives
where they are most vulnerable. It is broken down into two subcategories,
each of which contains the same information but arranged, by two different
criteria:
-
By Name - Here,
the information is organized by the person to whom the information refers.
Look up facts (all negative of course) on "Bush", "Christian Coalition",
"Ann Coulter" and "Thomas White" to name a few. Once there, you can look
up relevant examples by keyword.
-
By Keyword -
Here, the information is organized by keywords such as "Bigotry", "Despicable
Behavior", "Foreign Policy" and "Ulterior Motives" among others. Each category
offers examples of GOP losers and just what they did to deserve the heading.
It should be noted that the tactics, strategies
and suggestions contained in the bowels of this site were observed being
used effectively by someone, somewhere at some point in time. So please
understand that just because this site contains the information that it
does, that does not mean that we necessarily recommend that you use every
tactic, strategy or opinion contained herein. That is up to you. Such information
is provided for multiple reasons, not the least of which is to serve as
a warning that the enemy is using these techniques to their advantage.
So, maybe we, as progressives, could lighten up on our recent tendency
to sit on our hands and start going for the jugular when it comes to promoting
our ideology. Remember. We are trying to save society, the Constitution,
the nation and the world (I say that without hyperbole.) In addition, don't
be overly concerned at the bold simplicity of some of these techniques.
Their unapologetic assertions and implied arrogance are meant to overwhelm
the uninitiated.
The Plea:
We cannot do this alone. We need your input, suggestions, ideas and editorial
contributions. We try and make this as convenient as possible by providing
the means to communicate with us ("Suggest Strategy", "Provide Ammo", "Letters
to the Editor" and the "Newsletter") and with each other ("Forum" and editorial
contributions). So please let us know what you think.
Thank You.
